Prost Brewing Company -- Denver, CO

Prost Brewing Company - Denver, CO

Sarah Love and Kenny arrived the evening of March 13, 2024 at Denver International Airport. It was cold and wet. While sitting on the tarmac and gazing out the window of the aircraft we watched a light rain drizzle. A large blizzard was expected that evening and we had beaten it by a few hours.

One of Kenny's oldest and dearest friends, Kevin, was kind enough to pick us up at DIA. By the time we had reached Kevin's, the rain had progressed into beautifully falling intricate white snowflakes. It proceeded to blanket the city landscape with a dense, heavy snow over the next twelve or so hours.

Other than visiting Kevin and his wife, Pokey, the purpose of trip was to check out the Meow Wolf, Denver's Convergence Station. For those of you who are unaware, Meow Wolf is what can best be described as a large scale, interactive art installation. Denver is the third Meow Wolf location following the original in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the second, Omega Mart, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Currently, as it stands, there are five individual museums, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Denver, Grapevine, and Houston. Two additional Meow Wolfs are currently under development, in Los Angeles and New York City. Each destination has a different layout and storyline; however, when we visited Grapevine we learned it "connects" the stories and has some obvious throwbacks to the other sites.

Meow Wolf is a combination of both real and surreal physical sensations and experiences. The Meow Wolfs seem to exist within ethereal, bizarre alternate realities spanning across multiple dimensions. The Denver Meow Wolf is primarily based in a futuristic city and urban environment with a large focus on an interdimensional train station.

Following our amazing trek through the Meow Wolf universe we traveled a short distance to a local beirgarten, Prost Brewing Company. Prost has a very German feel, serving up German-style craft beers along with similar Germanesque cuisine. One of the staples of the beirgarten, is, of course "Das Boot," holding an astonishing 68 ounces of beer! After much debate Kenny went all in but elected to choose one of the lighter beers on tap to tackle Das Boot. Not only did the establishment serve great brews, it was dog friendly as well! While we were heading back to the table Kenny spotted one of his favorite breeds of dog, an Australian Shepard. Kenny asked the pet parent if he was able to greet her dog, and the owner obliged.

We can all agree that nothing goes better alongside a 68 ounce German-style beer than a pretzel! Sarah Love, Kenny and their party sat outside soaking up the warm winter sun on a chilly March day awaiting their salted, twisted treat. The pretzel came out with a shimmer from the evenly coated butter. Having a deep golden brown color and traditional shape there was a perfect salt ratio on the delightful snack. Biting into the pretzel the outside had a slight crunch with a buttery taste that transitioned into a somewhat doughy center. Accompanying the pretzel was a cheese fondue and German mustard which hit well along side the buttery, salted taste profile.

3.0/5.0

Sincerely,

Kenny Muzzey & Sarah Love
